Shipping Specialist

Position Overview

A well-established organization is seeking a Shipping Specialist to support daily warehouse and logistics operations. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant outbound shipments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pick, pack, and prepare products for shipment according to established procedures
  • Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, invoices, and customs forms
  • Coordinate with carriers and freight providers to schedule pickups and ensure on-time delivery
  • Inspect outbound shipments for accuracy, quantity, and condition
  • Update warehouse management systems to reflect inventory movements
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, shipping requirements, and applicable trade laws
  • Operate warehouse equipment
  • Communicate with internal teams and external contacts regarding shipment status or issues
  • Assist with warehouse organization, physical inventory counts, and general clerical tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-3 years of experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics operations
  • Proficiency with shipping software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Effective verbal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the facility
  • Occasional bending, kneeling, and reaching
  • Ability to lift items over 25 pounds
  • Indoor warehouse environment with exposure to typical warehouse conditions
